Beatrice (Jetty) Abrahamson, 82 of Devils Lake formerly of St. Michael and Langdon, ND passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake.
Funeral Services for Beatrice will be held on Monday, November 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Tekakwitha Center at St. Michael with Fr. Dale Kinzler officiating. Graveside Services for Beatrice will be on Monday, November 4th following the service.
Beatrice, daughter of Ambrose and Frances (Lohnes) Jetty was born on October 29, 1931 at St. Michael, ND. She grew up and was educated in the St. Michael area.
Beatrice was united in marriage to Clifford Abrahamson Sr. on February 2, 1952. The made their home in Devils Lake for a time and Beatrice dedicated her life to being a loving wife and mother. Beatrice worked in the restaurant industry in several locations and capacities. She worked at the Happy Hour Restaurant until 1957 when the family moved to Cando. In January of 1965 they moved to Aneta and she was a waitress with the City Café and also worked as a cook at the Aneta School. After moving to Langdon in 1971, Beatrice worked at the Pizza Shack and also at Ted’s Sportsman.
Beatrice began employment as a dispatcher at the Langdon Police Department from 1983 to 1987 and then worked at the Fort Totten Police Department after moving to Devils Lake. In 1995, Beatrice retired and continued to make Devils Lake her home. She made have retired, but she didn’t quit working and worked for Ramsey County Attendant Care for several years, fully retiring about 10 years ago. Clifford passed away on April 8, 1995.
Beatrice enjoyed working as it was a way of staying involved in life. She always kept up on current events, community events and family events. She always made sure she was up to date on the activities of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
We can’t imagine life without our beloved Beatrice. May she rest in everlasting peace.
Beatrice is survived by her sons, Clifford Abrahamson Jr. of Sheyenne, ND, Victor “Sonny” (Dawn) Abrahamson, William “Don” Abrahamson and Anthony “Dean” Abrahamson all of Devils Lake; daughter, Elizabeth (Bob) Dougherty of Hillsboro, ND; sixteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Morin, Devils Lake, Gloria Jetty and Marie Baker both of St. Michael, ND; sister-in-law, Vivian Jetty also of St. Michael; many nieces and nephews.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford; sisters, Genevieve Nash and Doris Moran; brother, Dave Jetty.
