SHAYLA LEIGH (ROSS) FEATHER

Shayla L. (Ross) Feather, of Fort Totten, ND our beloved wife, mother, granddaughter, sister, aunt, cousin and dear friend began her journey to the Spirit World on Tuesday, October 29, 2013. Shayla was 24 years old and died at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake. A Wake for Shayla will be held at the Fort Totten Recreation Center on Monday, November 4th beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. The procession to Fort Totten will leave on Monday at 4:00 p.m. from Wal-Mart. Funeral Services for Shayla will be held on Tuesday, November 5th, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Fort Totten Recreation Center. Fr. Charles Leute will officiate and Shayla will be laid to rest in St. Jerome’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Fort Totten. Shayla Leigh, daughter of Cheryl Ann Tomahawk and Delvin Ross was born on July 9, 1989 at Devils Lake, ND. Shayla grew up in the Fort Totten area all of her life. Shayla attended Head Start and from there Shayla attended Four Winds Middle School/Alternative School. She was attending GED classes at the Little Hoop Community College. Shayla worked at the Spirit Lake Casino and Resort as a Buffet Server and most recently at the Spirit Lake Grocery as a cashier. Shayla loved being with and around her family and kids and the times they had together were very precious to her. Shayla also liked going to the Casino and playing Bingo and cruisin around listening to music. Shayla’s loving family. Her husband, Calvin Feather whom she married on December 2, 2011; daughters, Tashelle, Chere and Calshay Feather; sister, Krissy Richote; aunties, Tammy Allery, Delphine Longie, Marveen Eliserio and Charlene BlackBird; uncles, Frank Tomahawk Jr., Milton Green Sr., Lawrence Green Jr., George Green, Robert Green, Richard Green and Ross Green; grandma, Margie Ross; mother-in-law, Cathy TwoHearts; special friends, Rhonda and Sarah; special cousin, Faith Tomahawk and Elwayne Green and all of her dear cousins, nieces and nephews. Shayla was preceded in death by her Dad Delvin Ross, Mom Cheryl Tomahawk; grandpas Lawrence Green Sr. and John Ross; grandmas Eunice Green, Katie TwoHearts and Priscilla Touche; uncle Dalton Green; cousin Milton Green Jr.; in-laws Richard Feather Sr., Cheryl Feather and Ila Feather. Serving as Active Pallbearers for Shayla will be Elwayne Green, Stacy Feather Jr., Milton Green Sr., Jeremy Greywater, Darren Green and Steven White.
