Donray Guy Sr., our beloved Dad,, Brother, Grandpa, Uncle, Cousin and Dear Friend began his journey to the Spirit World on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at his home in Fort Yates, ND.
The Wake for Donray will be held at the Dakotah Oyate Lutheran Church, rural Tokio, ND on Wednesday, November 20th beginning at 5:00 p.m. The procession to Tokio will leave at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Services for Donray will be held on Thursday, November 21st at 2:00 p.m. at the Dakotah Oyate Lutheran Church with Rev. Larry Thiele officiating. Burial will be in the Dakotah Oyate Cemetery.
Serving as Active PallBearers for Donray will be Lee Guy, Eldwin Guy, Terrance Guy Paul, Tony Guy, Tyler Snell and Billy Foote. Honorary Bearers are all of Donray’s relatives and friends.
All Drum Groups are welcome to share their songs in memory of Donray.
Donray, son of Frank and Cordelia (Douglas) Guy was born on August 20, 1958 at Fort Yates, ND. As a young child, he moved with the family to Tokio, ND area and attended school in Warwick, ND. He played basketball in high school and that love of the game stayed with him through the years and he played in basketball leagues as an adult.
Donray spent several years living and working in Oregon and he also lived and worked on the Spirit Lake Nation for a time. Most recently he had made his home in Fort Yates.
Donray has been a blessing in our lives and we will miss him very much.
Donray is survived by his children, Donray Guy Jr., Dana Guy, Elizabeth Guy and Jackie Guy Redfox and all of his dear grandchildren. He also leaves behind three brothers, Jerome Guy, Lee Guy and Jerry Guy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Cordelia; sisters Donna Guy, Madiline Guy Rue and Joyce Young Smith; brothers Robert Guy and Ignatius Guy; niece Deanna Guy; nephew Gerald Guy Jr. and grandchildren Valdon Jade Redfox and Lakeisha Paige Guy.
