Nora Elizabeth (Spratt) Wirth Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Munich, ND with Rev. Mathew Pamplaniyil celebrating the Mass. Nora will be laid to rest in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, rural Calio, ND in the spring. Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Munich. Serving as Casket Bearers will be Nora’s Grandsons, Christopher Wirth, Jonathan Wirth, Benjamin Wirth, Adam Wirth, Riley Beck, Travis Beck and Mitchell Wirth. Honorary Bearers will be all of Nora’s family. Reading the Scriptures will be Alicia Wolfgram; Gift Bearers, Danielle Vail and Brittany Wirth; Eucharistic Minister, Rachel Olson; Prayers of the Faithful, Renae Ahlberg and Monica Olsen and Altar Servers, Elysia Zimmer and Kari Hoffman and a Special Tribute by Larissa Skjonsberg. Music will be provided by St. Mary’s Choir, Tanya Wirth-Johnson, soloist and Jane Wirth, pianist. Nora Elizabeth Spratt was born on May 13, 1930, in Loma, ND, to Jack and Nora (Wolford) Spratt. She grew up and attended school in Wales and Hannah. She moved to Minneapolis, MN, and worked as a telephone operator. Nora married Norman Wirth on July 28, 1951. They farmed in the Munich area while raising their five children. They lived in Everett, WA, during the winter months from 1952-1955. She helped work on the farm while taking care of her children. She took pride in having a large vegetable garden and pretty flowers. Nora was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Altar Society in Munich. In 1981, they moved off the family farm to Devils Lake, ND. In 1999, they bought a house in Arizona, where they spent the winter months. They moved to Wood Lake in 2000, where their family continues to gather each summer since 1990. In 2006, they moved to West View Apartments in Munich and in 2013, they moved back to Devils Lake, ND. She will be remembered for her love of conversation and entertaining family and friends. She will forever hold a special place in the hearts and memories of all who knew her. She passed away at Good Samaritan Home in Devils Lake, ND, on December 30, 2013, at the age of 83. Nora is survived by Norman, her husband of 62 years. Sons; Gary (Lori) Wirth, Bruce (Rita) Wirth, Brian and friend (Kerna Borho) Wirth. Daughter; Lynette (Gary) Beck, all of Munich, ND. Fifteen grandchildren; Christopher (Tiffany) Wirth, Larissa (Rob) Skjonsberg, Jonathan (Jessica) Wirth, Alicia (Jon) Wolfgram, Renae (Carl) Ahlberg, Adam Wirth, Tanya (Shane) Johnson, Benjamin ( Marissa) Wirth, Brittany Wirth, Mitchell Wirth, Monica (Cory) Olsen, Rachel (Aaron) Olson, Danielle (Peter) Vail, Riley Beck, Travis Beck; Twenty-two great grandchildren; Parker, Milan Wirth; Spencer, Samuel, Gracyn Skjonsberg; Oliver, Finley, Neva Wirth; Lauryn, Leighton, Brayden Wolfgram; Jack, Gianna, Nora Ahlberg; Aubrey Wirth, Aidan, Jake Johnson; Charisma Schulte, Camden Wirth; Everett Olsen, Sawyer, Lincoln Olson; Brother; Ernest (Sharon) Spratt of Minneapolis, MN Nora was preceded in death by her parents; son, Larry Wirth; brothers, Earl, Robert, Raymond, Joseph Jr.; sisters; Neva Bachman, Doris Westphal, Anna Mae Jordan, Mabel Jordan, Ethel Hall, Betty Zeis, Carole Witzel and Donna Estenson.
