JOHN P. SOVAK

John P. Sovak, manager of the Trails West Motel of Devils Lake passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake. He was 70 years of age. A Time of Remembrance and Sharing will be held at the Trails West Motel on Friday evening, February 7, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. All of John’s friends are invited and welcomed. John was the son of William and Laura (Goodman) Sovak. He served his country during the Vietnam War as a soldier in the United States Army. He was the proud father of two sons and a daughter and a dear, beloved friend to many. Everyone who walked through the doors of the motel were always greeted with a smile and welcome. His roots were as a New Yorker, but he adapted and adopted North Dakota life with much gusto and lived his life to the fullest. May he rest in peace.
