LINDA LOU BACHMEIER

Linda L. Bachmeier, 66 of St. Michael, ND died on Monday morning, February 10, 2014 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake, ND in the loving care of her family. Funeral Services for Linda will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake with Rev. Jeff Nicla officiating. Linda will be laid to rest in the Devils Lake Cemetery, Devils Lake, ND. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Wednesday (tomorrow) from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Thursday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Linda Lou, daughter of Otis and Donna (Kennedy) Pledger was born on February 5, 1948 at Devils Lake, ND where she grew up and received her education. Linda graduated from Devils Lake High School with the class of 1968. She then began employment with Sioux Manufacturing in Fort Totten and worked there for 18 years. She also worked at the Trails West Motel and most recently was employed at Heartland Care Center in Devils Lake until health problems forced her to retire. Linda was united in marriage to Adam Bachmeier on September 22, 1978 at Devils Lake. They established their home in the St. Michael area and made their life together and raised their two sons. Linda loved any time that was spent with family and friends-playing card games, outings to various events and just time visiting over a cup of coffee. She had a passion for horses, they were her pets and any chance she got to go riding or even time grooming and feeding she considered time well spent and time enjoyed. She loved spending time with her sons and grandchildren and was overjoyed if they also took an interest in working with her horses. We treasured each day we had with Linda our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and we will miss her very much. Linda is survived by her husband Adam of 35 years; sons Adam Bachmeier Jr. and his wife Sara of Devils Lake and Dwayne Bachmeier and his wife Marya of St. Michael; grandchildren, Lane and Brooke Bachmeier and Dallas and Destiny Bachmeier; brother Larry Pledger of Minot, ND and sisters Ruth Stewart and Sandy Adney both of Bismarck; her father Otis Pledger; several aunts, uncles and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Linda was preceded in death by her mother Donna and her grandsons Dwayne Bachmeier Jr. Serving as Casket Bearers for Linda will be Adam Bachmeier Jr., Dwayne Bachmeier, Tony Hoffart, Paul Winnegge, Jr., Mike McQueen and Joey Denault.
