Jean Lingor, 91 of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Thursday morning, March 20, 2014 at Heartland Care Center in the loving care of family.  Mass of the Resurrection for Jean will be held on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Very Reverend C.F. Wilhelm celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Sunday, March 23rd from 2:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 5:30 p.m. The Rosary will be led by the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Visitation on Monday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Jean Lou, was born on January 29, 1923 in the farm house of her parents, John and Goldie (Handy) Nyland, rural Oberon, North Dakota. She was reared and educated in Devils Lake and graduated from Devils Lake Central High School in May of 1941. She met her beloved Clarence Lingor while they were at the local ice skating rink. They were united in marriage on September 13, 1941 at Crown Point, Illinois. They returned to Devils Lake and made Devils Lake their home for most of their lives. Clarence died on April 17, 2011. For over 20 years, Jean and Clarence worked as the owners and operators of Security Electric. Jean was the “office manager” and so much more. They retired in 1980 and spent fourteen winters in Arizona. The warmer climate allowed them to enjoy the hobby of “trap shooting” year around. Jean was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Rita’s Circle and also the Catholic Daughters. She worked diligently as a volunteer for Mercy Hospital Auxiliary and several other organizations. When she had time to take a break from work, she enjoyed whist parties at the Elks and with neighbors and friends. Jean is survived by her loving family. Her children Colleen and her husband, Allan Nosbusch of Bismarck, ND and John Daniel Lingor and his wife, Elaine of Pittsburg, KS; four grandchildren Robert Nosbusch and his wife, Karlyn, Tom Nosbusch and his wife, Nicole, Kevin Nosbusch and his wife, Becca and Christopher Lingor and his wife, Megan; seven great grandchildren Alexis, Jake, Carter, Ashlyn, Dylan, McKenna and Kinlee; sisters-in-law Arlo Nyland of Devils Lake, Betty (Dick) Hoff and Bertha Maletti both of California; many nieces and nephews and their families She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clarence and brother John Nyland. Casket Bearers will be Jean’s grandchildren, Robert Nosbusch, Tom Nosbusch, Kevin Nosbusch, Christopher Lingor and also Stan Sigette and Tommy Peterson. Reading the Scriptures will be Nicole Nosbusch and Becca Nosbusch and Gift Bearers will be Carter Nosbusch, Dylan Nosbusch, Ashlyn Nosbusch and McKenna Nosbusch. Music will be provided by Peter A. Hager and JoDee Lagein.
