At the age of 16 she went to work on the Fugle farm as a cook in a cook car; preparing all the meals, making the pies and bread daily. She met her first husband on that farm. Odd Erickson was a steam thresher operator. They were united in marriage on June 14, 1935. They had their daughter, Margaret Lucille “Peggy” in April of 1939. Odd passed away in August 1947.
Our Mother worked as a checker/clerk, nurses’ aide and a waitress. She met her second husband Archie Rohrer at the Mayer Café and they were married on December 5, 1952. They had a daughter, Ardys Jane in July of 1954. They made a life farming in the Fort Totten area for 42 years. Archie passed away December 6, 1994.
