Doris F. Paul, (Pah-Pah) “Pickey” 62 of Fargo, ND formerly of the Spirit Lake Nation passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the Sanford Palliative Care Center in Fargo, ND.
The Wake for Doris will be held at the Woodlake Wellness Center, Tokio, ND on Friday, April 4th beginning at 5:30 p.m. The procession to Tokio will leave at 4:30 p.m. on Friday from Wal-Mart.
Funeral Services for Doris will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bdecan Presbyterian Church, rural Tokio with Rev. Enright BigHorn officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Bdecan Cemetery.
All Drum Groups are welcome to share the songs in memory of Doris.
Casket Bearers for Doris will be Mokes IronRoad-Redfox, Steven Redfox, Robert Thompson Sr., Preston Paul, Mike Shockman and Wheldon Littleghost.
Doris Faye was born on September 28, 1951 to Clarence and Etta (Redfox) Paul. She attended elementary school in Veblen, South Dakota and the Wahpeton Indian School in North Dakota. She attended high school at Flandreau Indian School in South Dakota.
Doris made her home in South Dakota and Fargo, ND where she was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend. She liked to travel and visit family and friends. She enjoyed playing Bingo and playing cards which also included lots of visiting. She especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
We will keep the memory of our beloved Doris in our hearts forever.
She is survived by her three daughters, Lisa Paul of Sisseton, SD, Stephanie Paul and Robin Paul of Fargo, ND; three sons, Rodney Paul, Justin Ironhawk of Eagle Butte, SD and Brandon Paul of Moorhead, MN; twenty-one grandchildren; six great grandchildren; friend Stanley Lufkins; sisters, Louella Redfox and Sally Paul of Fargo; brother, Melvin “Gene” Paul of Tokio; aunts and uncles, Sharon and Albin Georgeson, Hilda and Louis Garcia, Alberta Redfox, Kay Redfox, Geraldine Redfox, Ione Eagle of Waubay, SD; special grandchildren, Terrence Guy Jr., Mokes Ironroad-Redfox , Xandria Paul-Stoldt and Stacy Littlewind-Stoldt; many, many nieces and nephews.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Etta; special friend, Dale Shepard; sister, Bernice Paul; brother, James “Jimmy” Paul; children, Denis Paul and Stacy Paul; grandparents, Archie and Gertrude (Crow) Redfox Sr.; aunts, Karen Rodfox-Paul, Annie Redfox, June Redfox, Bernice Redfox, JoAnn Redfox and Miriam “CoCo” Redfox; uncles, Francis Tikanye Sr., Leroy Redfox, Archie Redfox Jr. and Robert A. Redfox; many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
