MARGARET M. EAGLE

Margaret M. Eagle, 59 of St. Michael, ND passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake with family at her side.   A Memorial Service for Margaret will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Michael’s Recreation Center, St. Michael, ND with Tony McDonald officiating.  Visitation will be held at the Recreation Center on Thursday one hour prior to the service.   Margaret will be laid to rest in St. Michael’s Cemetery in the spring.   Margaret Marie, daughter of Francis “Muttsey” and Irene (Anderson) Bellile was born on December 4, 1954 in Devils Lake, ND.  She was raised on the Spirit Lake Nation and spent most of her life there.    Margaret graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Devils Lake with the class of 1973.  She attended Lake Region Junior College and received her Associate of Arts Degree in Business.   She later received special training as a Social Worker Intake Coordinator.    Margaret worked at Sioux Manufacturing for 15 years.  She then began in the Food and Beverage Department at the Spirit Lake Casino and later transferred to the Accounting Department and was a dedicated employee of the Casino for 15 years until health problems forced her to retire.    Margaret knew hard work and the challenges of providing for her children as a single mother.  But her children and grandchildren brought her so much joy and she loved each of them with all her heart.  She also was so grateful for the support of her brothers and sisters and time spent with them was always an adventure.  She and her sisters loved their “road trips” and they sometimes made a stop at a casino or two as they travelled in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota.  The memories of time spent together as family will be forever in our hearts.  Margaret had a big heart for animals too and her beloved Rambo was constantly at her side.    Margaret is survived by her daughters Nicole Eagle and fiancé John Wilkie of Devils Lake and Serena Eagle of St. Michael, ND; grandchildren Randall Baker, Krista Baker, Phoenix Belgarde and Xavier Belgarde; sisters and brothers Bonnie Dronen, West Fargo, ND, Abbe Bellile, Mesa, AZ, Michael (Veronica) Bellile, Tolna, ND, Sue Ann Oppegard, Fosston, MN, twins Tim Bellile and Tom Bellile of Walker, MN, Julie Bellile, Grand Forks, ND, Peter (Bonnie) Bellile, Fort Totten, ND; adopted brother Louie (Hilda) Garcia, Tokio, ND; step grandson Ryley Brunelle and step great grandson Jamez; special caregiver Leslie Lindquist and her three children; many nieces, nephews and their families.    She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.    Friends may sign the online register book and share memories of Margaret at www.gilbertsonfuneralhome.com
