RONNEY F. PFEIFER

Ronney F. Pfeifer of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake. He was 58. Mass of the Resurrection for Ronney will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Very Reverend C. F. Wilhelm celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 27th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 5:00 p.m. all at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake. Visitation on Wednesday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Ronney Fabian, son of Fabian and Genevieve (Voeller) Pfeifer was born on March 11, 1956 at Devils Lake, ND and graduated from Devils Lake Central High School. Ronney would live most of his life in Devils Lake except for a short period of time when Ronney and his parents lived in Yakama, WA and California. Ronney began working for Marv and Leo’s Red Owl and was employed there for about 12 years. He then became the owner and operator of his own cleaning business which he continued until his death. Ronney was united in marriage to Kathy Koch on April 8, 1983 in Devils Lake and they made a wonderful life together for 31 years. Ronney’s passion was anything with an engine. He loved classic cars and street rods and was a member of the NDSRA (North Dakota Street Rod Association and the MSRA (Minnesota Street Rod Association). He was the proud owner of a restored 1969 GTO and was looking forward to being the new owner of a 1957 Chevy. Ronney also enjoyed watching “Counting Cars” and “Down East Dickering”. He never missed an antique auction if he could help it and that led to enjoying the TV show “American Pickers”. His presence at Devils Run will be missed, but his spirit will be there. We will always remember his loving, warm and gentle heart. Ronney is survived by his wife, Kathy; mother-in-law Anna Mae Koch; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Keith and Beth Koch of Washburn, ND, Kenny and Brenda Koch of Bismarck, ND, Kim and Fran Leiphon of Crary, ND, Linda and Dan Rutherford of Jamestown, ND and Judy and Marc Wirth also of Bismarck; his loving feline companion, Wendy; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law Kenneth “Bill” Koch. Casket Bearers for Ronney will be Dean Skaflen, Jerry Henke, Jerome Helten, Roger Zimmerman, Josh McCartney, Randy Schwab, Larry Tostenson and Peter Lippert.
