BERNICE M. EBERLE

Bernice M. Eberle, 71 of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the Sanford Palliative Care Unit in Fargo, ND in the loving care of her family. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Devils Lake on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Fr. C.F. Wilhelm celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, (today) also at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Friday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Bernice Marie, daughter of Frank and Helen (Heisler) Voeller was born on November 20, 1942 at Rugby, ND. She was reared and educated in the Leeds area and graduated from Leeds Public High School with the class of 1961. She continued her education at Josef’s School of Hair Design in Fargo. Bernice was united in marriage to John Eberle on November 13, 1963 at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Leeds. They made their home in Benson County where they lived, worked and raised their family. Bernice worked in Retail Sales in Rugby and Devils Lake as the manager of Borths, Stage, Christopher and Banks and the Fashion Boutique. After John retired from farming, they moved to Devils Lake where they lived at the time of her death. Bernice was always such a faithful servant and very active in the church, Altar Society and community including membership in St. Anne’s in Filmore, ND, St. Vincent de Paul in Leeds and St. Joseph in Devils Lake. She also enjoyed membership in the Elks Auxiliary and Mercy Hospital Auxiliary. Bernice was never idle and had a very artistic flair in so many areas, including silk flowers, painting, gardening, cooking, interior decorating, sewing and needlepoint. She also enjoyed hunting with family and friends. We cannot imagine life without our beloved Bernice and will cherish each special memory of her. Bernice is survived by John her husband of over 50 wonderful years of marriage; children Michelle (Billy) Harkness of Leeds, ND, Marcelle (Craig) Djoseland of Molalla, OR, Richard (Robyn) Eberle of Leeds, ND, Nicole (Cory) Bisbee of Big Lake, MN and Roberta (Scott) McGarvey also of Leeds; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister Elizabeth Carlson of Rugby, ND; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Irene Voeller, Tony Keller, Barb Voeller and Jerry Eberle; many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Pius Voeller, Anton Voeller and Frank Voeller; sister Katherine Keller; sisters-in-law Margaret Voeller and Nancy Hildebrand. Serving as Casket Bearers for Bernice are her grandchildren, Justin Djoseland, Chris Djoseland, Trevor Harkness, Stephanie Harkness, Rachelle Eberle, Rebecca Eberle, Reed Eberle, Madison Bisbee, Carson Bisbee, Kaley McGarvey, Katelyn McGarvey and Darrec McGarvey. Music will be provided by Rick Senger and JoDee Lagein.
