V. Dolores Noltimier, of Isanti, MN formerly of Churchs Ferry, ND passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at her home in the loving care of family and Hospice. Funeral Services for Dolores will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, ND with Dr. Richard Budd officiating. Burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service. Dolores Knutson was born on July 2, 1926 at the family home in Harlow, North Dakota to Albert and Thilda (Erickson) Knutson. She attended Harlow School through 2nd grade, Lincoln Country School until 6th grade, Brinsmade School until it closed in 11th grade and she graduated from Minnewaukan in 1944. Dolores graduated from Rugby Hospital Nurse’s School in 1947 through the Cadet Nursing corps. This was a federal government program that helped to increase the nurses in the country to replace the nurses that had gone off to war. She was very proud of being a nurse. She worked at the Rugby Hospital for a year and then married Henry Noltimier in 1949. She worked side by side with him on the farm in Churchs Ferry and raised five daughters. She was also very active with the WELCA in Zion Lutheran Church in Churchs Ferry. Henry and Dolores moved to Devils Lake in 1999 when the farm was no longer accessible by road due to flooding. Henry passed way in 2005. Dolores moved to Cambridge, Minnesota in 2010 and lived with her daughter Cheryl until she moved into a nursing home and then into her final home on earth at Prairie Senior Cottages, Isanti, Minnesota. Dolores is survived by her sister Donna Schell; brother Roger Knutson, both of Devils Lake; daughters, Linda (Ned) Van Dyke of West Fargo, Judy (Jim Moore) Dawson of Ocean Shores, Washington, Diane (John) Nevers of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Cheryl (Russel) Sailer of Cambridge, Minnesota and Laurie (Allan) Wickstrom of Hettinger, North Dakota; grandchildren, Ron (Carla) Van Dyke, Rick Van Dyke, Tammy (Ron) Sherling, Sandy Belle, Chad (Marlena) Van Dyke, Brandon (Terri) Van Dyke, Christopher (Dawn) Dawson, Chondra (Adam) Norman, Meghan (Ben) Conant, Heidi (Phil) Miranda, Joshua (Caitlin) Nevers, Matthew Nevers, Mark Sailer, Kristen Sailer, Lindsey (Benji) Schaff, Kayla (Matt) Dangel, Paul Wickstrom, and Jessica Wickstrom; thirty great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Thilda; her brothers Harold and Alton; sister, Shirley and her husband Henry. Funeral Services for Dolores will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, ND with Dr. Richard Budd officiating. Burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service. Music will be Congregational Hymns with Doris Michaels, pianist.
