LuAnna Lynn Chaske “Canupa Yuhan Mani Win” (Walks With The Sacred Pipe) entered the Spirit World on July 11th, 2014 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
LuAnna was born April 24, 1986 in Devils Lake, ND to Anna Thompson and Kenneth Chaske. LuAnna attended school at Four Winds Community School where she graduated with honors in May 2004. LuAnna enjoyed beading, writing, playing basketball, playing cards, wrestling, traveling and spending time with her family and friends whom which she cared for very deeply.
Wake service will be held at the St. Michael’s Recreation Center in St. Michael, ND Wednesday, July 16th, 2014 beginning at 5pm. Prayer service at 8pm by Greg Holy Bull. A procession to St. Michael will leave at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday (today) from the Old Wal-Mart. Services will be on Thursday, July 17th, 2014 at 11:00 am at Native American Church Cemetery in St. Michael, ND. Gerard Thompson, Sr. will officiate the burial. Music provided by Spirit Lake Singers.
Serving as Casket Bearers for LuAnna will be her uncles, Ambrose Thompson, Jr., Gerard Thompson, Sr., Myron Harrison, Sr., Delbert Harrison Sr., Louie Chaske, Randy Miller, Arnold Calf Boss Ribs and her three brothers Gilbert Longtail, Gabriel Longtail and Tony Chaske.
LuAnna is survived by her parents Anna Thompson and Kenneth Chaske, and her three brothers Gabriel Long Tail, Gilbert Longtail and Tony Chaske, her niece Teya Longtail, nephew Tristen Longtail; aunts Roxanne Harrison, Germaine (Arnie) Thompson, Selina Thompson, Delphine Thompson, Marcella Thompaon; uncles, Gerard (Alice) Thompson, Ambrose (Adele) Thompson Jr., Louie (Jeannie) Chaske; grandparents Catherine Howard, Zachary Thompson, Frankie Chaske, John (Mona) Chaske and family, Winfield Chaske and family, Florene Harrison and family.
LuAnna is preceded in death by her big brother Sampson Thompson, grandparents Ambrose A. Thompson, Sr., Irene Leftbear, Anthony Chaske, Rita Matohin. Her uncles Timothy Chaske, Bradley Thompson, her aunts Barbara Chaske, Candice Harrison and her cousins Tracy Makes Good, Jonathan Harrison, Sidney Thompson and Janay Bellenger.
