Todd M. Rough Sr., 50 of St. Michael, ND passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Eddy County.
A Wake for Todd will be held at St. Michael’s Recreation Center on Wednesday (today), July 23, 2014 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service and Time of Remembrance at 8:00 p.m. The procession to St. Michael will leave at 4:00 p.m. today from the Old Wal-Mart.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Thursday, July 24th at 10:00 a.m. with Father Paul Schuster celebrating the Mass.

Todd Michael, son of Daniel and Melda (TakesTheHat) Rough was born on November 1, 1963 at home in Bull Head (Rock Creek), South Dakota. He was delivered by his grandmother, Annie CatchTheBear-TakesTheHat. He was raised and educated in McLaughlin, South Dakota, graduating from McLaughlin High School with the class of 1982. He moved to the Spirit Lake Nation where he lived most of the rest of his life.
He continued his education at UND, Grand Forks for 2 years, studying engineering. He worked at various places on Spirit Lake including Sioux Manufacturing Corporation, the Fire Hall, Dakota Tribal Industries, the Road Garage in Newtown, ND, as a laborer with a construction company in Denver, Colorado and at the time of his death he had been working for several years at the Spirit Lake Casino in the slot department.
In his younger years, Todd enjoyed playing baseball, softball, football and basketball and had been on several winning teams through the years. He was a trophy winning billards player in many of the tournaments he participated in. He also had enjoyed learning Tae Kwon Do and had gone to several competitions.
Todd always enjoyed going to work and being a part of the team of co-workers at any of his jobs. Being outdoors, walking and spending time with his grandchildren was such a precious time for him.
Todd is survived by his wife, Marty Jackson; daughter Hope Rough (Daryel Charboneau Sr.) of St. Michael; sons Daniel J. Rough (LiTisha Teel) also of St. Michael and Todd Rough Jr. (Laura Garnenez) Shipwreck, New Mexico; thirteen grandchildren Daryel Charboneau Jr. Kyli Charboneau, Kailyn Charboneau, Khatesha Charboneau, Taylor Charboneau and Bradley Charboneau; Danica J. Rough, DeShaundra J. Rough and Daniel “DeJay” Rough Jr; Laila Rough, Lalita Rough, LaKenya Rough and Romeo Rough; three sisters Elizabeth Mayquomenbenais-Jones (Zachary) of McLaughlin, SD and Sharon and Alice of Newtown, ND; aunts Julianne EndOfHorn, Clarice Miner, LeftHand Girls of Kenal, SD; uncles Clayton LeftHand and Mayo M. Hat; many nieces and nephews.
