Vincent L. Grady
Vincent Grady, son of Martin and Mary Kathryn Grady, passed away at his home in Phoenix, Arizona on September 26, 2013—he was 93 years old.
Vince, known to many of his friends in the Leeds area as “softy” spent his boyhood years helping his Dad with farm work until joining the Army in 1942. Vince fought with the 25th Infantry Division, Tropical Lightning Rainbow Division in the South Pacific Islands. Among his many awards was the (CIB) Combat Infantry Badge.
Vince and Alvina Johnson were married in 1948 and had two children; Linda (Craig) Hveem of Bozeman, Montana and Colin Grady of Phoenix, Arizona. He was also blessed with two granddaughters Jennie (Brian) Bowman and Janna (John) Colman of Las Vegas, Nevada. His great granddaughter, Lyla Colman was born 3 months after his passing.
Vincent worked for Montana Dakota Utilities Resources (MDU) of Bismarck for 33 years—retiring in 1986. Vince and Nina then moved to Phoenix where they both enjoyed the warm weather and Vince was known to win a few golf games.
Vincent was preceded in death by his Parents, brother James, sisters MaryEllen, Francis, Agnes and Marcella. He is survived by his wife, son and daughter, granddaughters, a great granddaughter as well as many nieces and nephews.
Cremation took place on September 28th, 2013 and graveside services will be held at St Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery on August 23rd, 10:00am.
