Kristopher Michael Curtis, 16 of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 in Devils Lake. Funeral Services for Kristopher will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Evangelical Church, Devils Lake with Rev. Bruce Dick officiating. Kristopher will be laid to rest in the Devils Lake Cemetery at a later time. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Monday, August 18th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Tuesday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Kristopher Michael, son of Todd and Suzanne (Cremers) Curtis was born on December 28, 1997 in Devils Lake, ND. He attended Prairieview Elementary School, Central Middle School and would have been a Junior at Devils Lake High School this fall. Kris was an Honor Student and involved in several activities throughout his school years including a member of the Middle School Chorus, summer baseball and Firebirds Football, and was now on the Varsity Football Team as a lineman. He also participated in AWANA, bowling and really enjoyed playing basketball with friends and family. He also enjoyed hunting and salmon fishing. Kris was an avid reader, loved to watch movies and play video games with school friends and new friends he could challenge on line. Kris was active in the Football Boosters and helped with any odd jobs the team was asked to participate in. He had just begun his first job helping prepare and open the new Super Wal-Mart. We cannot imagine life without our precious son, brother, grandson and nephew. We turn him over to the loving arms of God and will keep his memory, his laugh, his beautiful smile in our hearts forever. Kris’ precious family include his parents, father Todd Curtis and his mother, Suzanne Curtis and special friend, Dave McElhaney all of Devils Lake; brother Keaton Curtis; grandparents Janice Curtis, Jerome and Barbara Cremers all Devils Lake; aunts and uncle, Mary Cremers, St. Paul, MN, Sandy Cremers, Tucson, AZ, Michelle Cremers, Grand Forks, ND, Teresa and John Kaspar, Camarillo, CA; cousins Nicole Torricellas and Tyler and Jackson Kaspar; several great aunts and great uncles. Kris was preceded in death by his grandpa Roy Curtis and uncle Michael Cremers. Honorary Bearers for Kris will be his Teammates of the Firebirds Varsity Football Team. Active Casket Bearers will be the Firebird Varsity Football Coaches, Jay Schneider, Jake Wateland, Travis Thielges, Josh Jacobson, Mike Callahan, Todd Lambrecht, David Bitz and Tyler Marquart.
