Marjorie Little, 78 of Fort Totten, ND passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 20, 2014.
The Wake for Marjorie will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at St. Michael’s Recreation Center, St. Michael, ND beginning at 6:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service and Time of Remembrance at 8:00 p.m. The procession to St. Michael will leave on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. from the former Wal-Mart.
Marjorie’s funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 28th at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Michael’s Recreation Center. She will be laid to rest at St. Jerome’s Cemetery, Crow Hill, rural Fort Totten, ND.
Marjorie was born February 28, 1936 in rural Fort Totten (CrowHill), North Dakota the loving daughter of John and Cordelia (BigTrack) Little. Marjorie lived on the Spirit Lake Nation most of her life. She worked for Sioux Manufacturing Corporation over many, many years.
She was very proud of her grandchildren, Heather, Rani, Presley and Cameron and great grandchildren. She was especially proud when her oldest granddaughter, Heather, graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree and now is a teacher. She was proud of Presley and Rani when they graduated with their Associate’s Degree from Little Hoop College. Cameron was her baby and she was proud of him being the youngest of the “Howard Kids”. She was proud when her oldest great granddaughter, Demrae, graduated from Minnewaukan High School in May of 2014. She really loved her last youngest great granddaughter, “Scarlett Howard”!
Marjorie was known as “Little Grandma” by her great grandson, Nathen and “Grandma Chevy” by her great grandson, Lastat Howard. Marjorie gave her great granddaughter, Shandyn, the nickname “Squirrel” when she was a baby. Marjorie liked to tease and laugh with everyone she knew and met up with.
Marjorie liked to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She liked going to BINGO, to pow-wows and playing the slot machines. But due to her illness, she had to be at home and was forced to quit working.
Marjorie was very proud of the “Mystic River Singers” (Kenny Merrick Jr.) and she was proud when she heard them sing.
Marjorie’s loving family include her daughter, Deborah Little; grandchildren Heather, Rani, Presley and Cameron; great grandchildren Demrae, TruVal, Talisssa, Shandyn “Squirrel”, Lastat, Nathen, Braedon and Scarlett; brother Pierre Culbertson; special nieces Shirley RedRoad and Connie Black; special nephew Roger “Busty” McKay; godchild Murray McKay; adopted sons Darren Trottier, Darrell ThreeIrons, Darwin Brown and Hyllis Dauphinais; adopted granddaughters Mandy Guy, Summer Littlewind and Spring Mead; special grandsons Kenny Merrick Jr., Tyson Merrick, Montana Chaske, Cameron Howard and Presley Howard; special granddaughters Heather Snow, Rani Howard and Renae Merrick; special friends Hyllis Dauphinais, Lori Brown, Bernadette Brown, Lola Waanatan, Terri Blacklance, Cheryl and Al Laducer and Mildred McKay.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents John and Cordelia Little; brothers Joseph, David and Benny Culbertson; sisters Barbara Little and Mary Evelyn Black and her good friends Theresa Littlewind and Maxine Foss.
Active Casket Bearers will be Roger Yankton Sr., Hyllis Dauphinais, Joel RedFox, Roger “Busty” McKay, Steve Jetty, Darrick Ami, Darwin Brown and Irvin KillsPlenty Jr.

Music will be provided by the Rhythm Riders and any singing groups are welcome to share their songs in memory of Marjorie.
