LESLIE A CRIST

Leslie A. Crist, 52 of Devils Lake, ND passed away early Friday morning, August 29, 2014 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake. Funeral Services for Leslie will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel, Devils Lake with Father Matthew Kraemer officiating. Leslie will be laid to rest in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service all at the Gilbertson Funeral Home. Leslie Anita, daughter of Wendelin and Mary (Grossman) Ludwig was born on September 13, 1961 at Devils Lake, ND. She would grow up here, attend school here and make her home here most of her life. Leslie attended Minnie H Elementary School and Central Middle School in Devils Lake. Her first two years of high school were at Milbank, South Dakota when the family moved there. They moved back to Devils Lake and Leslie graduated from Devils Lake High School with the class of 1979. Leslie worked in the dietary department of Mercy Hospital and also at the Masters Bread Store. Most recently she had worked at The Arc until health issues forced her to retire. Leslie was united in marriage to Steven Dale Crist on July 3, 1992 in Devils Lake. They established their home here where they happily shared their life and love for each other for twenty-two years. Leslie had passion for everyone and everything in her life; her family, her friends, her dogs and baking. She enjoyed the outdoors, tanning and reading a good book. When together with special friends, she enjoyed attending concerts, dining out and shopping. Everyone knew what a great cook she was and she kept them well supplied with their favorites. Leslie is survived by her husband Steve; mother Mary Ludwig, Minot, ND; siblings Shirley Ludwig and Timothy (Cheryl) Ludwig all of Minot; in-laws Debbie (Lowell) Strand, Minot, Randy (Julie) Crist, Fargo, Terry (Kaye) Crist, Marian, Iowa, Sue (Curt) Hawkenson, West Fargo, Lori Crist, Moorhead, MN and Loren (Tammy) Crist also West Fargo; special friends Mary Senger Hellman and Kathy Dahlen; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Wendelin; sister Rosella Ludwig and mother-in-law Janice Crist.
