Caryl A. Loehr, 78 of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake with loving family at her side.
Funeral Services for Caryl will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Devils Lake with Rev. Lyle Belleque officiating and burial in the Devils Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be also held at Peace Lutheran Church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
Caryl Anita, daughter of Victor and Olga (Erickson) Lee was born on September 24, 1935 in Devils Lake. She attended first grade at Garske, ND then the family moved to Devils Lake where she was raised and educated, graduating from Central High School with the class of 1953.
Caryl was united in marriage to her beloved Vern Loehr on June 16, 1956 in Devils Lake and they were the proud parents of three children, Craig, Connie and Jeff.
Caryl worked at the Lake Region Clinic as needed from 1956 to 1997 as a Lab Technician and then later was the receptionist in the Internal Medicine Department.
She was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church and the WELCA and also a volunteer at the Mercy Hospital Gift Shop. When she wasn’t working she was very creative in needlepoint and cross-stitching and was an avid reader. And no matter how busy Caryl was she loved to cook and bake and share those delicious family favorites with all her family and friends.
Caryl was preceded in death by her parents; son Craig in 1992; granddaughter Chelsey in 2001; brothers Don, Newton and Sherman Lee.
She is survived by her dear family. Her husband of 58 years Vern; children Connie (Nels) Halgren, Devils Lake and Jeff Loehr, Fargo; daughter-in-law Renee (Miller) Loehr, Moorhead, MN; grandchildren Dr. Brooke (Dusty) Bodeen, Nathan (Shannon) Loehr, Eric (Nikki) Loehr and Megan Loehr; great grandchildren Caleb, Carson, Ellie Mae; Kellen, Lane; Arianna, Emilia, Xavier and Alexander; brother James (Linda) Lee, Sioux Falls, SD; many nieces, nephews and their families.
