Talayah Autumn Brown IronHawk (Burns), 16 of Rolla, ND passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at her home in Rolla.
The Wake for Talayah will be held at St. Michael’s Recreation Center, St. Michael, ND on Sunday, October 5th beginning at 4:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. The procession to St. Michael will leave on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. from the former Wal-Mart.
Funeral Services for Talayah will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Recreation Center. with Father Paul Schuster officiating. Talayah will be laid to rest in the Native American Cemetery, rural St. Michael.
Music will be provided by the Spirit Lake Singers and any other singers and drum groups are welcome to share their songs in memory of Talaya.
Talayah Autumn Brown IronHawk (Burns) was born on August 27, 1998 at Pine Ridge, South Dakota and entered the Spirit World on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at her home in Rolla, ND. She was the precious daughter of the late Alvin Brown Sr. and Darlys IronHawk.
In Talayah’s younger years she enjoyed the outdoors; riding her bike and skate boarding. She also enjoyed attending ceremonial meetings out at Jack and Fran Warners residence in Tokio along with her father and brother. Her favorite movies were “Phineas and Ferb” and “Scooby-Do”. Talayah would have her down days at times, but that didn’t last long. She was a happy girl. She would always call Orianna ONeBear, her cousin, her best buddy.
Talayah’s school years were spent at Sweetwater, Minnie H in Devils Lake and at Maddock Public School. At the time of her death she was attending school in Rolla, ND in her Junior year. She was on the Junior Girls Varsity Basketball Team. She was active in sports and enjoyed sports. She liked drawing and painting. She enjoyed going to Crystal Lake with her foster parents, Jody and Harry Burns. She said it was so peaceful there. At the time of her passing she was employed at Leevers in Rolla.
Talayah is survived by her mother Darlys IronHawk, Devils Lake; sisters LaShawn IronHawk, Grand Forks and Delisha Burns, Rolla; brother Alvin Brown Jr., Bismarck; aunts Bessie IronHawk, Devils Lake, Sharlene IronHawk, Melody Brown, Carmen Hale, Michelle Hale, Jessica Hale, Cheryl IronHawk, Darcie IronHawk and Dawn IronHawk all of St. Michael and Lorraine GoodNature, New London, CT; uncles Jason IronHawk, St. Michael, Roudie IronHawk, New London, CT, Elvis Demarce, Kevin Brown, Robert Brown Jr., Billy Brown, Michael Demarce IronHawk, Derek IronHawk, all of St. Michael; grandmothers Elizabeth Lawrence, New Rockford, ND, Sylvia Hale, Esther IronHawk, Ella LaFrombois and Sandra Demarce, St. Michael; grandfathers Robert Brown Sr., Eugene Hale, Josie Lawrence, Cletus Lawrence, Zachary Thompson and Richard Demarce all St. Michael; adopted grandparents Jack and Fran Warner.
Talayah was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Brown Sr.; big brother Darnell James IronHawk; grandfathers Benedict IronHawk Sr., Isaac Mallard, Frank Demarce, Henry Lawrence, Albert Thompson and Andrew IronHawk; grandmothers Bertha IronHawk, Celina IronHawk, Frances Ross Brown, Sarah Smith, Veronica Thompson-Demarce, Annie Greywind IronHawk, Lillian Mebebeya uncles Daniel, Marvin, Roger, Myron and Benedict Jr., IronHawk; aunts Bernadine IronHawk and Elaine Demarce; cousins Jennifer and Leslie IronRoad.
Rest now my baby girl. You will always be in our hearts and memories. You will be greatly missed and loved. No more hurt, no more pain.
