Kalum J. Yankton, 33 of the St. Michael/Fort Totten area of the Spirit Lake Nation, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at rural St. Michael.
The Wake will be held at St. Michael’s Recreation Center on Monday (today) October 27, 2014 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. The procession to St. Michael will leave at 4:00 p.m. today from the former Wal-Mart.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, October 28th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
Casket Bearers will be Shilo Knutson, Darren Strouse, Fulton Merrick Jr., Lance Young, Kyle Langstaff Sr., Alonzo King, Jerry LeNoir Jr., Mitch Lameyer and Brandon Thomas.
Kalum was born on December 30, 1980, the son of Andrea (Yankton) and Roger IronShield Sr. at Devils Lake, ND. He lived in the St. Michael area most of his life. He attended school at Four Winds School, middle school at Warwick, ND, high school at Four Winds and received his GED and other training at the Quentin Burdick Job Corp in Minot. Kalum was very active in sports while in middle school. He loved “hangin out” with friends and family; listening to music and sharing happy times with his beloved family.
