Clayton Tollerud, 82 of Devils Lake formerly of Esmond, ND passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake.
Clayton, son of Delbert and Betty (Grady) Tollerud was born on June 6, 1932 at Esmond, ND. He grew up in Esmond and spent most of his life there. He attended Isabel Country School and graduated from Esmond High School. He continued his education attending NDSU, Fargo for two years and then on to Minot State College.
He worked for the Great Northern Railroad for many years, along with farming in the Esmond area. Farming was his passion and he was a steward of the land he loved. After retiring from farming, Clayton enjoyed traveling, to Europe, Russia, Norway, Normandy, France, Canada, Alaska and throughout the United States. His time at home was spent with family and friends.
Clayton is survived by his sister, Pat Eberle of San Lorenzo, CA; brother and sisters-in-law Jim and Jackie Tollerud, Aurora CO, Lavonne Tollerud, Honolulu, HI, Margaret Tollerud, Maple Grove, MN formerly of Devils Lake and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Gordon Tollerud and Robert Tollerud; sisters Dorothy Kuist and and infant sister Jane; brothers-in-law Gordon Kuist and Nick Eberle.
