CHARLENE A CAVANAUGH

Charlene A. Cavanaugh, 45 of Fort Totten, ND passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. A Wake for Charlene will be held at St. Michael’s Recreation Center, St. Michael, ND on Thursday, December 18, 2014 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. The procession to St. Michael will leave on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. from the former Wal-Mart. Funeral Services for Charlene will be on Friday, December 19th at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Michael’s Recreation Center with Father Paul Schuster officiating. Charlene, daughter of Walter Cavanaugh Sr. and Sandra LittleGhost was born on January 9, 1969 at Devils Lake, ND. She lived in Devils Lake and attended Minnie H Elementary School. At age 18 she moved to the Twin Cities where she lived and worked at the Target Store through the years. For the past several years, Charlene has lived in Fort Totten and worked at the Spirit Lake Casino for a time. Charlene was very talented as a beader, making dream catchers, pen covers and other creations. She enjoyed many types of arts and crafts. When she was younger she was a Shawl Dancer. Charlene especially enjoyed time with family and friends playing games at the Casino or just having a good visit. We have lost someone very special to us and she will be in our hearts forever. Charlene is survived by her mother, Sandra (LittleGhost) Tenequer; step-father Roger Tenequer; brother Travis LittleGhost Cavanaugh; daughters Chantelle, Kasondra, Charissa and Tyrissa; sons Trevor and Carlito; grandchildren Johnny, Taileisha, Makisha, Hailey, Sincere and Kai; step sisters Jackie Tenequer and DeeDee Tenequer; step brother JR Tenequer; adopted Mom Geneva BigTrack; aunties Bonita, Lesa, Carla and Roberta LittleGhost, Debbie, Adeline and Cynthia Herald and Lillian DeMarce; uncle Richard LittleGhost; grandmothers Helena LittleGhost, Elizabeth LittleGhost, Arlene Gomez and LaVern LittleGhost; grandfathers Leroy LittleGhost and Skip Longie Sr.; special niece, Carolynn BigTrack; many other dear relatives. She is united in the Spirit World with father Walter “Porgie” Cavanaugh Sr.; brother Walter Cavanaugh Jr.; step brother Jeffery Tenequer; uncles Robert “Bobby” LittleGhost, Francis “Walls” LittleGhost, Rodney LittleGhost, Byron LittleGhost and Harvey Herald; aunties Eva LittleGhost, Glenda Herald, Velma BigTrack and Delima Jackson; grandpa Jimmy Cavanaugh; very special niece and nephew Mary BigTrack and Wesley BigTrack Jr. Casket Bearers will be Vanessa Cavanaugh, Darren DeMarce, Wesley BigTrack Sr., Frankie (Inez) Chaske, Carla LittleGhost, James Thompson, Alan Little, Mark LittleGhost and Richard LittleGhost. Honorary Bearers will be Trudy Herald, Mary Cavanaugh, Pat Griffin, Lisa and Keyana Feather, Louie and Jeannie Chaske, Randy Denne Sr. and Family, Jeaneen LittleGhost, Peggy Cavanaugh, Connie Poor Bear, Rusty Iceman and Lee and Janetta Jackson. As Charlene’s family, we are very thankful to the people that came and prayed for Charlene. Thank you for being with her until she left to the Spirit World. Charlene loved people and considered everyone her friend so if we forgot to mention someone it was not intentional and please forgive us as we make our way through this very sad time.
