Gordon J. Founier, 31 of Fort Totten, ND passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.
A Wake for Gordon will be held at St. Michael’s Recreation Center, on Monday, December 22, 2014 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. The procession to St. Michael will leave on Monday at 4:00 p.m. from the former Wal-Mart.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 23rd at 10:00 a.m. also at the St. Michael Recreation Center with Fr. Paul Schuster officiating. Gordon will be laid to rest with his two children in St. Jerome’s Cemetery at a later date.
Gordon James Fournier nickname “Doe” was born March 24th, 1983. His mother Emma Poor Bear humbly asked Violet and Norbert Fournier to raise her child. They did and blessed Gordon with an amazing adopted family. Gordon entered the spirit world on December 16, 2014.
He grew up in Fort Totten North Dakota, and attended school at Four Winds. Gordon worked at DTI and the Spirit Lake Casino.
“Doe” loved to call up Bobby Jetty and Billie Joshua to play pinnacle. He enjoyed fishing, drawing, and hanging with the boys.
Gordon has three children Amari Fournier, Gordon “George” Fournier Jr., Noah James Fournier.
His sisters and brothers are Robin (Todd) Poor Bear, Varian (Brenda) Charboneau Marie (Ole) Olson, Doris Desjarlais, Virgil Desjarlias, Priscilla Ironhawk, Richard (Sonja) Desjarlais, Bonnie (Peter) Bellile, Wayne (Amy) Kennedy, Napoleon (Ashley) Fournier and Doris Denne.
He has many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gordon was preceded in death by both of his mothers Emma and Violet; his dad Norbert Fournier; grandparents Gordon Poor Bear, Ida Matohin; his twins Suri Rose and Alex Fournier; aunts Cynthia Poor Bear, Betty Poor Bear, Viola Brown, Martha Poor Bear; uncles Robert Poor Bear, Joseph Poor Bear, Patrick Poor Bear.
