Kathleen Dee “Kathy” Eisenzimmer, 61 of Devils Lake, ND passed away at her home on Saturday morning, January 24, 2015 in the loving care of family and friends.
Kathy was born on January 23, 1954 in Devils Lake, ND the daughter of Donna (Knutson) Schell and George Schell. She attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School and St. Mary’s High School, graduating in 1972. In high school, she was a cheerleader at St. Mary’s and a majorette with the Devils Lake Band Corporation.
Kathy was united in marriage to Terry Eisenzimmer on September 17, 1976 in Devils Lake and the proud parents of sons, Jeff and Tim.
While in high school, Kathy worked for her Dad at the Snack Shack at the Holiday Mall for 3 years. She also worked for Coast to Coast Hardware Store for 5 years before beginning her career as a Para Professional at Sweetwater Elementary School. Kathy worked at Sweetwater for 34 years, until health reasons forced her to retire. She received several awards while working at the school. She was also honored as the Classified Employee of the Quarter, Unsung Hero Award recipient and the greatest honor was being a part of the Kathy Eisenzimmer Day at the school.
Kathy loved working at the school so much, that she spent many years painting for the school district during her summer break. She went above and beyond her normal duties at the school. She was loved by the staff and students at Sweetwater. She couldn’t go anywhere without being greeted by current and former students. She never forgot a student’s name.
