Vincent B. Shaw Jr., 53 of Fort Totten, ND passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake. A Wake for Vincent will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015 at the Crowhill Recreation Center, rural Fort Totten, ND beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. The procession to Crowhill will leave on Monday at 4:00 p.m. from the former Wal-Mart. Funeral Services for Vincent will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Crowhill Recreation Center. Vincent Bernard Shaw Jr., “Barney” was born January 1, 1962 to Agnes Dubois and Vincent Shaw Sr. in Breckenridge, Minnesota. He was raised and educated in Fort Totten ND, He attend Haskell Indian JC, Lawrence, KS and Little Hoop CC, Fort Totten,ND. Barney enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on cars and playing bingo (especially “Early Bird”). He loved his family very much and was proud of all his grandchildren's accomplishments. He was also a Lay Reader and Junior Warden for St Thomas Church. He enjoyed working as a Bus Driver for the SL Head Start and Four Winds School, and one of his greatest accomplishments was getting his CDL and driving a truck. He made his family very proud of him. He is survived by his Dad, Vincent Shaw Sr. (Adele); spouse Jean Afraid of Hawk; children Louis Shaw, Cody Shaw, Raymond Shaw (Megan), Kara Shaw (Mitchell), Keisha Shaw (Bentley), twins Vincent Shaw III and Chase Shaw, Paulva Shaw (James), Lillian Shaw and Arliss Littlewind; grandchildren Lillian Buckles Shaw, Tori and Kaleb Pindegayosh, Marquel GreyBear, D’Ondre, Phillip and D’Onna LeBlanc and Joseph Acoby; brothers Mark Shaw, Shobie Shaw, Julius Shaw, John (Rena) Lohnes, Benjie SwiftBird, Audie SwiftBird, Little “Big Brother” Michael “Chaske” Thompson III and “Big Brother” Whalen “Bud” Shaw; sisters Meda Shaw, Mena Shaw, Mary Shaw, Berdine Shaw, Kristy Lohnes, Francine Greene and Carrie St. Pierre; aunts Ardis Shaw, Myrtle Gillis and Verna McClusky; uncles Les Dubois and Andy Shaw; special nieces Alesia "Chubby" Shaw and Margaret Lame Bull. Vincent was preceded in death by his mother Agnes Dubois; grandparents Fred and Lilly Dubois, William and Lillian Shaw; brother Vincent “Suma” Shaw; uncle Roger Shaw; auntie Vivian Thompson; cousins Carrie Price and Neil Shaw; nephews Michael Mark Shaw, Christopher Feather, Baby Travis Dubois and niece Destiny Dubois. Pallbearers for Barney will be Dustin Dunn, Michael Dunn, Christopher Cavanaugh, Mark Fassett, Andrew Shaw, Barrett Mudgett, Mark Shaw Jr and J.W. Shaw. Honorary Bearers are Terry Dunn, Melchoir Mudgett, Mark Fassett, Rob Greywater, Perry Fassett, Daryl ThreeIrons Sr., Annabelle Demarce, Alfred Leftwich, Rob and Tom Longie, Louie and Hopsty Dubois, Merle McKay, Mark Shaw and family, Arthur Greene, Leverette BlackCloud, A.J. Littlewind, Paul and Robin Lawrence, Cletus Lawrence, Roger Ironshield, Phaedra Jackson, Sam McKay, Burton and Barb Jackson, Trent Anderson, Whalen and Renita Shaw, Corrina Shaw and girls, Dwight and Rhea Smith, Arthur and Cindy Mudgett and family, Aurelia Bets His Medicine and family, Maxine Peltier, Hermina McKay and family, Ila McKay and family, Tony and Vina McDonald and family, Cheryl Good Iron, Myra Pearson, Spirit Lake Tribal Council, Bernard Mudgett, Marty and Georgia Alex and family, Raymond and Maxine Buckles Daneen Afraid of Hawk and family and Joanne Afraid of Hawk and family. Drum Groups will be the Rhythm Riders, Spirit Lake Singers, the Lohnes Singers and any singers and drummers are welcome to share their music.
