Eustean E. Tollefson, 93 of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Friday, February 20, 2015 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake with Very Reverend C.F. Wilhelm celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and at the church from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Eustean was born to Fred and Josephine (Muri) Bingham on August 17, 1921 in Benson County, North Dakota. She was united in marriage to Rudolph Tollefson and they made their home on the farmstead near Maddock, ND where they lived, worked side by side on the farm and began their family. After Rudolph’s death, Eustean moved to Devils Lake where she raised her children and one grandson and worked at several local restaurants and then at the Good Samaritan Center for many years until she retired. Eustean enjoyed reading, gardening, Bingo, going to the Casino and especially spending time with her family. She is survived by her loving family. Her “kids” Lawrence (Gaylene) Tollefson, Doyon, ND, Elisabeth (Charles) McGarvey, Devils Lake, Rudolph (Judy) Tollefson, also Devils Lake, Mary Lou (Jim) Steinhaus, Crary, ND, John (Marva) Tollefson, St. Michael, ND, Dan Tollefson, Horace, ND and Nancy (Bill) Thomas, Mandan, ND; twenty grandchildren; forty-two great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; brothers and sisters Fred (Ann) Bingham, Devils Lake, Marie Eback, Warroad, MN, Susan Bingham, Devils Lake and Delbert (Anna) Bingham, Leeds, ND and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Rudolph; parents; daughters Barbara Rosendahl and Eleanor Williams; grandson B.J. Thomas; two great grandchildren; sisters Catherine Kraft, Rosemary Leppard and Patricia Ripplinger and brothers Francis Bingham and George Bingham. Casket Bearers will be Eustean’s grandsons Norman Rosendahl, Charles McGarvey, Donovan Olson, Scott Olson, Rudy Tollefson, Chad Tollefson, Shane Steinhaus, Curtis Tollefson, John Tollefson Jr., Mike Tollefson and Dylan Thomas. Honorary Bearers will be Eustean’s granddaughters Bev Aanderud, Kristi Tollefson, Cindy Hanson, Nikki Bender, Laura Germain, Dana Banken, Robin Tollefson, Lexy Tollefson and Heather Thomas. Music will be provided by Yvonne Fossen and JoDee Lagein.
