Duane E. Jacques, 78 a longtime Bottineau County farmer, my sweetheart and husband died Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Lakota Good Samaritan Society in Lakota, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Devils Lake with Very Reverend C.F. Wilhelm as celebrant. Military Honors will be accorded by the Neathery-Simensen Post #756, Devils Lake Veterans of Foreign Wars and the North Dakota Military Funeral Honors Team. Lectors will be Kenzie Jacques and Kristen Nelsen. Gift Bearers are Kayla and Kenzie Jacques and Kristen Nelson. The Rosary and Scripture Service will be on Wednesday, March 4th at 7:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake. Duane Elmer Jacques was born October 4, 1936 in Bottineau County, Bottineau, ND to Elmer and Ruth (Volker) Jacques. He was raised and went to school in Bottineau. He married Nancy Rose on March 14, 1970 in Brookings, Oregon. They have three children, Victoria (Joe) Magnusson of Hawley, MN, Regina Jacques of Bismarck, ND and Gary (Traci) Jacques of Devils Lake, ND; 8 grandchildren Hunter and Ethan Magnusson of Hawley, MN, Jason, John and Melissa Beck of Harvey, ND and Kayla, Kenzie and Karsen Jacques of Devils Lake, ND. Duane’s greatest joys in life were his Grandchildren and farming. He loved being around his grandchildren and having them with him in the tractor or combine. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Gail (Jacques) Smestad.
