James LaCroix, 56 of Sylmar, California formerly of St. Michael, ND entered the Spirit World on Friday, February 27, 2015 at Broadway by the Sea Care Center, Long Beach, California.
Visitation will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Michael, ND on Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Monday, March 9th at 10:00 a.m. also at the church with Father Paul Schuster celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
James “Jimmy” LaCroix was born in Moorhead, Minnesota in September 6, 1958. His parents are Leroy and Marie (Lohnes) LaCroix. He was raised in the Fargo/Moorhead Area and attended elementary schools there. He later attended school in Roseau, Minnesota. After high school Jimmy started to travel and his travels would take him throughout the Midwest and along the Pacific Coast. He spent much of his life in California, mainly in Long Beach & Hollywood.
James was a very caring humble man. He was known for his generosity and being a very humble person that could get along with everyone and treated everyone he met with respect.
James was a true Hollywood Indian who walked on the Stars.
James is survived by his sisters, Linda LaCroix, Brenda LaCroix, Bonita Miller all of Fargo ND. Debbie Adams St. Michael, ND. Brothers Tim LaCroix, Seattle, Washington, Vince (Dawn) LaCroix, Moorhead, Minn, Robert LaCroix, Florida, David LaCroix, Wyoming. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Marie LaCroix, Sisters Janice Belgarde, Sharon Thomas, paternal grandparents Louis and Jamima (LeBelle) LaCroix, maternal grandparents James and Emma (Alberts) Lohnes.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Jimmy will be Lane Adams, Stuart Lohnes, Ethan Lohnes, Alex Leben, Randy Leben, Chris Bustos, Ethan Nash and Dana Lohnes. Music will be provided by Tony and Vina McDonald and family.
