Henry Frank, son of Henry and Martha (Madison) Bartholme was born on April 8, 1952 at Devils Lake, ND where he grew up and was educated.
As the youngest of six children, Henry helped out with the family chores and active in all the activities of family life. He enjoyed membership in a local church group and when they moved their headquarters to Grand Forks, Henry moved also and worked at the Mexican Village. He later moved to Minneapolis, MN and worked as a custodian at a local nursing home. When his brother Harvey became ill, Henry moved back to Devils Lake to help other family care for Harvey until his death. Henry remained in Devils Lake and worked at Dakota Boys Ranch-Second Chance until health problems forced him to retire.
Henry was a quiet man with a gentle and kind spirit. He loved family gatherings and enjoyed watching the great nieces and great nephews at play and having fun. If there was a pet dog in the mix of everything, all the better to Henry. To say Henry was a Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings fan would be an understatement. The extensive knowledge he had of the team players, the stats, the coaches, etc, was fascinating and it was facts from as far back as the 1960’s. He had a perfectly cataloged inventory of thousands of baseball cards. He was an avid reader and his thirst for knowledge was incredible and he was able to quote history and statements he read regarding any subject he researched. For fun and to relax, he enjoyed watching Western movies and TV shows and spending time with his beloved family.
Henry is survived by his sisters Phyllis Heilman and Vivian (Wes) Asleson all of Devils Lake and several nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Harvey and sisters Marie Bartholme and Delores Rader who died on March 23, 2015.
