Mildred L. Flaig, 94 of Devils Lake formerly of Tioga, ND passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the Lakota Good Samaritan Center.
Funeral Services for Mildred will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mabel Lutheran Church, Sutton, ND with Reverend Wes Glennen officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Jamestown, ND on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
Mildred was born on December 24, 1920 at Ryder, North Dakota, the fifth of six children, to Helmer and Laura (Ostvolden) Iverson. She graduated from Makoti High School and attended Minot Teachers College graduating with a teaching certificate. After graduating, she taught school in eastern Montana and central North Dakota for several years.
She married Dale Flaig on July 21, 1946 at Sutton, North Dakota. They lived in various Minnesota and North Dakota towns where Dale was a store manager for several grocery chains. In 1963 they purchased the Super Valu store in Tioga, North Dakota, where they worked side by side in the store. In 1987 the store was sold and they remained in Tioga until relocating to the Good Samaritan Home in Lakota. Dale died September 21, 2006.
Mildred was a long time member of First Lutheran Church in Tioga. Her strong faith made her a wonderful role model to her friends and family. She enjoyed dancing, visiting with friends and family, golf, scrap booking, stamp collecting, cooking, and was a life-long Yankees fan.
Her loving family includes: children, Mark (Lisa) Flaig, Devils Lake; Ron (Joyce) Flaig, Fargo; grandchildren, Jason (Kelly Van Moorlehem) Flaig, Suzanne Flaig, Chris Laurich, Pat (Rachel) Laurich, Leah (Brian) Domine; two great-granddaughters: Josie Van Moorlehem Flaig and Faye Domine, and two great-grandsons: Jackson Van Moorlehem Flaig, and Jackson Domine; brother Wallace (Herdis) Iverson, Binford, ND, and many nieces and nephews.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters Gladys Iverson, Vera Kvale, and Evelyn Andersen and brother Howard Iverson.
