Steven R. Eback

Steven Richard Eback, 54, Plainville, Kansas passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015 in Hays, Kansas. Steve was diagnosed with cancer in December of 2014. Steven Eback, son of Anton and Phyllis (Zettler) was born on November 18, 1960 at Devils Lake, ND where he was raised and educated. Steven was the second oldest child of nine siblings. In his teen years, Steve would spend time helping his dad feed cows and work on farm machinery at the Lake View Dairy. He also enjoyed outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, and playing the game, Horse. He also enjoyed playing a friendly competition card games with family. Steven was blessed with three beautiful daughters: Amanda (Jess) Westby, 36 of Bismarck, ND, Kerri (Jamie Marcotte) Eback, 20, of Plainville, Kansas and Nicole Eback, 13, of Plainville, KS. Steven is survived by his mother, Phyllis Eback; three daughters; sisters Deb (Punky) Lindenberg, Rita (Curtis) Nelson, Lynnette (Brian) Hoffmeyer, Brenda Dick, and Michelle Eback; brothers Wayne (Tammy) Eback, Gary Eback, and Daniel (Tricia) Eback; 15 nieces and nephews and 11 great nieces and great nephews, and special girlfriend, Deb Nicolaides. Steven was preceded in death by his father, Anton; grandparents George and Frances Eback and Benjamin and Myrtle Zettler. A Time of Sharing and Remembrance will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
