Allan Albert Bauer Obituary
Allan Albert Bauer, 66, of Devils Lake formerly of Munich, North Dakota passed away, on Sunday, April 12th, 2015 at Heartland Care Center in Devils Lake.
Allan Albert Bauer was born May 29th, 1948 in Drayton North Dakota to Albert and Golda (Dickie) Bauer. He grew up on a farm in the Pembina, North Dakota area and graduated from Pembina Public School with the class of 1966. Allan furthered his education and attended NDSU from 1966-1968. He transferred to Mayville State University in the fall of 1968 and graduated with a Composite Music Education Degree in 1971. He taught public school music in the Munich area for 42 years, retiring in 2013. After retiring, Allan moved to Devils Lake.
Allan was very active in several lodges in the area including the Eagles Aerie #3454, the Lebanon Lodge #34 AF and AM and the Scottish Rite Valley all of Langdon, ND, a life member of the Elks Lodge #1216 of Devils Lake and the Kem Shriners of Grand Forks, ND. He was also an active member of the Pembina Lutheran Church in Pembina, ND
Allan performed with the North Dakota State Legion band for 17 years, the Devils Lake Elks Community Band for 43 plus years and the Kem Shrine Band. He had a great love for music of all kinds and of every era and his incredible talent allowed him the ability to master several instruments.
Allan is survived by his niece, Kimberly R. Blankenship and her husband Kenneth W. Blankenship of Deer Park, Washington; great niece Kayla (Blankenship) Stokes and her husband Shelby Stokes of Puyallup, Washington; great nephew Michael Blankenship also of Deer Park and brother-in-law Dick Kozel of Vancouver, Washington.
Allan was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Golda Bauer and sister Shirley A Kozel.
Allan will be laid to rest in the Pembina Cemetery beside his parents.
A Memorial Service for Allan will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Evangelical Free Church, Devils Lake with Reverend Bruce Dick officiating. A time of remembrance and fellowship will be held at the Devils Lake Elks Lodge following the service.
