Visitation on Saturday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Geraldine Mae, daughter of John and Margaret (McCormick) Blaufuss was born on May 1, 1927 at Doyon, ND. She was reared and educated at Doyon, graduating from Doyon High School with the class of 1943. Geraldine was united in marriage to the love of her life, Frank G. Schall on June 20, 1944 at Crary, ND. Shortly after their marriage, Frank was called to duty oversees as part of his US Army Service during World War II. While Frank was gone, Geraldine lived with her mother until Frank was discharged. They established their home on a farm south of Doyon where they lived, worked and raised their family. In 1954 they moved to Crary. Frank worked in Devils Lake and in 1965, Geraldine began working as one of the cooks at the Crary School. It was hard work, as everything was homemade from scratch, but it was a job she thoroughly enjoyed and a job where she could keep a close eye on her children! She eventually retired from the school and in September of 1992 they moved to Devils Lake. But retirement did not mean that Geraldine slowed down. Throughout her life she was active in her community and her church. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crary and later St. Joseph church in Devils Lake. She was a charter member of Christian Mothers and served as President for many years and also as the Christian Mothers Circle Chairman. She volunteered countless hours as an RSVP member and at the Senior Center. She also enjoyed membership in the Crary Homemakers Club. Geraldine had many talents, especially in the needlework and sewing area. She crocheted Afghans for all her children and grandchildren and others, embroidered dish towels and pillowcases, made doll clothes of all sizes and even Barbie doll clothes on a treadle sewing machine. Geraldine was a woman of great faith, a loving, caring, devoted wife, mother, grandmothers and beloved neighbor and friend. We can’t imagine our lives without her presence, but know she will continue to love and guide us from her heavenly home. Geraldine is survived by her loving family.
