Farin L. Liggett

Farin Lynn “Big Farin” Liggett “Sr.” Farin Lynn Liggett age 46 of Devils Lake died Monday, May 11, 2015 at Sanford Critical Care in Fargo, ND. Farin was born June 3, 1968 to Donald and May (Parisien) Liggett in Portsmouth, West Virginia. He lived his early childhood in Zion, Illinois which is a suburb of Chicago. They then moved to Grand Forks, ND where he got his high school diploma. He then moved to Devils Lake where he met Loren Larson and they shared 25 years of . The two moved to Nelsons Trailer Court by St. Michaels where they had a son (Farin Edward Liggett Jr.) and lived there for 11 years. Once Lil’ Farin was 13 they decided to move to Devils Lake and called it home from there. Farin was a kind hearted man who would make you laugh with his jokes, smiles and presence. He worked from job to job supporting and doing his best for the family. Farin also played in a band called “Steel Wings” for 12 years. He played bass and sang, Emery Spotted horse was the drummer, Faron Ziebart played rhythm guitar and Mino Spotted Horse as the lead guitarist. He enjoyed going to the casino, enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears and Bulls during the season, playing his guitar and singing, spending time with his family but he enjoyed being a father the most. On April 10, Farin was battling COPD and was rushed to the emergency room in Devils Lake. He was transferred to Grand Forks and on May 1st to Fargo. He fought a long hard battle but his medical condition (ICP “cement lung”) would be too much to bear as he was taken to heaven where he is united with his mother (May Liggett), his two brothers (James “Jimbo” & Donald Jr. “Binke” Liggett), grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Farin is survived by his beloved Loren Larson of Devils Lake, ND. His son, Farin “Lil’ Farin” Liggett Jr. of Devils Lake. Aunts, uncles, and cousins. Farin will be greatly missed but his son will carry on his name and honor him as he continues to make his father proud as he watches from Heaven. Whenever you hear Farin you will think of the big goofy man who can crack jokes and play his guitar, but whenever you hear the name “Farin” you will smile and keep him in your memories and heart forever
