Jennifer Marie Mazakahomni Feather Drake, 56 of Lakota, ND passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN.
A Wake for Jennifer will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at St. Michael’s Recreation Center, St. Michael, ND beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. The procession to Wal-Mart will leave on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. from the former Wal-Mart.
Funeral Services for Jennifer will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Recreation Center with Father Paul Schuster officiating.
Jennifer Marie, born June 12, 1958 journeyed on May 12, 2015.
Mother, sister, grandmother and friend to all, she made us laugh and kept us moving forward.
She was a member of the Spirit Lake Nation where she attended school at Fort Totten School, Maddock High School and moving into higher education by attending a trade school in Aberdeen where she became a licensed beautician. She kept us all looking good for years. She was a guardian at litem for our tribe, Spirit Lake Nation for many years, watching out for the little ones. She also ran a construction company and tree trimming business with her husband James Drake. She was a licensed bail bondsman and took care to make sure families were helped.
She married James “Chip” Drake and they were married for over 25 years.
Jennifer had four children Rena Robertson, Tom Robertson III, Bernadette(Pernell) Jackson and Taylor Moon Drake; adopted sons with her husband Chip Jason, Justin and Josh Drake; survived by grandchildren Gianna and Jacob Rueda de Leon (CA) Pernell Jr, Halle, Maria, Sadie, and Terrell Jackson (Ft Totten) Victoria and Jace Robertson. Jennifer is also survived by her sisters Janice Feather and Renita(Dallas) Delorme and adopted sisters Juanita Espinosa, Paula Corbine, and Cheryl Bull; brothers Roger Feather, Tom Lee & Kevin Lawrentz and adopted brothers Dennis Corbine, David Corbine, John and Curtis Posey; she leaves a mother-in-law Elaine Robertson and many nieces and nephews who love her dearly. Special friends include the Bearstail family, Ila Mckay, Susie Rainbow, Clarice Lawrence, Andrea Peltier, Sandra Carlson, Janifer Jensen and many, many more too numerous to mention, and her puppy Coco Bug misses her.
She was preceded in death her parents: Andrew and Angeline (Redday) Feather, her sisters: Bonita and Andrea Feather and adopted parents Julia and John Anderson and Philomene Corbine.
