Carol Littleghost, 52 of the Spirit Lake Nation, rural St. Michael, ND passed away early Wednesday morning, May 13, 2015 at her home in the care of her loving family and Altru Hospice. A Wake for Carol will be held at St. Michael’s Recreation Center on Thursday, May 21, 2015 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. The procession to St. Michael will leave at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday from the former Wal-Mart. Mass of Christian Burial for Carol will be on Friday, May 22nd at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father Paul Schuster celebrating the Mass. Carol will be laid to rest in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. Carol Faye, daughter of Eugene H. and Elizabeth (Waanatan) Littleghost was born on July 14, 1963 at Devils Lake, ND. She grew up and lived her life in the St. Michael area. She attended Little Flower School at St. Michael and Four Winds in Fort Totten. In Carol’s early years, she started off working at DTI (Dakota Tribal Industries) for many years. She later on worked for Varsity Bags. Most recently she worked as a pantry cook for the Spirit Lake Casino and Resort until she became ill. She only had one son, Manuel Littlewind Jr., “Cricket” who was her best friend, whom she loved more than anything. She was blessed with two beautiful granddaughters Madisan and Ciana Littlewind and she loved spending time with the love of her life, Chris Anderson and they had a beautiful life together for many years. She also took as her own son, Mark Littleghost Jr. Carol enjoyed visiting her cousins, playing cards with her Mom and going places with her Mom, sister Mal. She was a very loveable, funny, caring, kind lady, who loved to befriend anyone who came in her home. She also would help anyone who needed it. She was a special auntie to many of her nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Carol is survived by her loving family. Mother: Elizabeth (Waanatan) Littleghost; sisters Marva (John) Tollefson, Leticia Littleghost and Marilyn (Daniel) Littleghost; brother Mark (Vanessa) Littleghost Sr.; special nephew/son Mark Littleghost Jr.; granddaughters Madisan Littlewind and Ciana Littlewind; nieces Tiffany Littleghost, Fallon Littleghost, Felicia Littleghost, Desiree Littleghost, Trinity Littleghost and Robin Tollefson; nephews Ricardo Littleghost, ShaQuille Littleghost, Coltan Littleghost, Eugene Littleghost Sr., Rory Littleghost, Russell Littleghost Jr., John Tollefson, Michael Tollefson and Curtiss Tollefson; aunts Pauline Greywater, Helena Littleghost, Elaine Robertson, Maxine Peltier-Littleghost and Arlene Littleghost; uncles LeRoy Littleghost and Philip “Skip” Longie Sr. Carol was proceeded in death by her father, Eugene; son Manuel Littlewind Jr.; brothers Dennis J. Littleghost, Faron L. Littleghost and Russell Littleghost Sr.; uncle Lawrence Littleghost; her significant other Chris Anderson and her grandparents, aunts, uncles, many relatives who have gone to the Spirit World. Casket Bearers for Carol will be Mark Littleghost Jr., Coltan Littleghost, ShaQuille Littleghost, Eugene Littleghost Sr., Russell Littleghost Jr., Rory Littleghost, John Tollefson, Michael Tollefson, Curtiss Tollefson and Allen Little. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cooper Longie, Julius Rainbow, Dana Lohnes, Francine Delorme, Nicole Anderson, Carla Littleghost, Lesa Littleghost, Trudy Iceman, Tina Martin, Stacy Dubois Sr., Andrea Yankton-Ironshield, Delmer Iceman, Philip Longie Sr. and family, Philip Longie Jr. and family, Leola White, Daniel Rainbow, David Robertson, Mark Robertson, Waylon and Renita Shaw, Josey and Clarise Lawrence, Pauline Greywater, Elaine Robertson, Helena Littleghost, Roberta Littleghost, Arlene Littleghost, Maxine Peltier-Littleghost, Sherry Guy, Roger Yankton Sr., Carmen Oldrock, Emmy Lou Littlewind, Paul Cavanaugh, Dr. Downs, Altru Hospice Care, nurses Amber and Farrah, Geneva BigTrack, Kelly Waanatan, the BlueShield family and Vicki and Melody Hill and family.
