Carol A (Dahl) Paulsen, 68, of Devils Lake, North Dakota passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake, North Dakota.
Carol was born on July 16, 1947 in Sharon, North Dakota. The eldest daughter of Duane and Violet (Perchert) Dahl. She grew up on a farm near Cooperstown, North Dakota until 1959 when they moved into town. She graduated in 1965 from Cooperstown High School. Her freshman year of college was at Valley City State in Valley City, North Dakota.
She then married Howard Paulsen in April 1968. Upon returning from Wisconsin, where Howard was serving in the Army, they both attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She received a degree in social work in 1970. After graduation she accepted a job with the State of North Dakota Human Services in Bismarck, North Dakota.
In 1974, they adopted their son Robin Troy Paulsen. In 1975, they moved to Wahpeton, North Dakota where she worked for Richland County Social Services. In 1976, they adopted their daughter Angela Dawn (Paulsen) L'Heureux. In 1978, her and her family moved to Langdon, ND where she worked for Cavalier County Social Services. In 1979, they move to Minot, North Dakota where she worked for the Village Family Services of Fargo, North Dakota. In 1984, they moved to Cooperstown, North Dakota where she worked with Lake Region Human Service Center of Devils Lake, North Dakota where she was a counselor for the past 30 years. In 1995, Carol moved to Devils Lake, North Dakota where she lived out the remainder of her life.
Carol was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother she loved her family. Through her life she has enjoyed camping, boating, playing games/cards, scrapbooking, reading, traveling, and her dogs.
Carol is survived by her husband Howard Paulsen, mother Violet (Perchert) Dahl, sister Cory (Larry) Trautman, son Robin Paulsen, daughter Angela Dawn (Marc) L'Heureux, grandchildren Seth and Skylan Belleau and Ashlin and Cohen L'Heureux.
Carol was preceded in death by her father Duane Dahl, grandparents Aug & Clara Perchert and Ed & Carrie Dahl.
