Brian LeRoy, son of Donald and Marie (Huber) Holtz was born on October 2, 1971 at Devils Lake, ND where he would make his home his entire life. He attended Devils Lake Public School and graduated from Devils Lake High School with the class of 1991.
After graduating, Brian worked at Schwan Wholesale Company for several years and also for Dave Hovendick at Land Surveying Services. For the past fourteen years, Brian has worked with the Weatherization Program at Dakota Prairie Community Action Agency.
Brian was united in marriage to his precious Angela Hunter on November 6, 1992 and they had many years of love, laughter and some tears and were the proud parents of two beautiful girls.
In his spare time, Brian enjoyed coaching high school girls’ hockey and was happy to pass on what he had learned as a hockey player in his high school years. He enjoyed hunting, dabbling in carpentry, was a big fan of Fighting Sioux Hockey and not ashamed to be a Cowboys Football fan in the midst of Viking territory. He was active in the community and for so many years has been a volunteer worker at the Devils Lake Fire Department Fishing Tournament.
Nothing meant more to Brian than his family and friends. His personality was one of great kindness, generosity, compassion and understanding. He looked after his Aunt Betty for many years and was there for anyone in need of a helping hand. He had a special bond with his friends and he never missed the chance to go fishing with Dennis or tackle remodeling projects with Charlie. Brian had such a passion for life and was thankful for each day he had with his family and dear friends Charlie and Penny Nygaard, the Wentz’s, Skadsem’s, Hermanson’s and Swenson’s.
We cannot imagine life without Brian. We will miss all the joy and laughter he brought to our lives but cherished memories will live on.
