WENDELIN "WENDY" T. "WINDY" SENGER

Wendelin T. “Wendy” “Windy” Senger, 84 of Devils Lake, North Dakota passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, November 18, 2015 at his home in the presence of his family and Altru Hospice. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake with Very Reverend C.F. Wilhelm celebrating the Mass. Burial will be held in the Devils Lake Cemetery, Devils Lake. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Wendelin Thomas Senger was born on May 8, 1931 at the Senger Homestead, Devils Lake, North Dakota the son of Michael and Johanna (Schwan) Senger. Wendelin entered the U.S. Army on January 16, 1951, serving in the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on August 23, 1952. Wendelin was united in marriage to Videll Linde on November 24, 1952. After leaving the service, Wendelin drove truck for Farmers Union Central Exchange out of Minneapolis. He later sold cars for Lake Motor Service, and then he managed and sold cars for his own dealership, Senger Ford, in partnership with his brother Peter Senger, in Grafton, ND. Wendy later worked for Dodge Town selling cars before moving to Billings, Montana, where he managed his private business of Magic City Hearing Aide. Wendelin retired in 1996 and spent his retirement years in Devils Lake. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the VFW. He was a past member of the Elks and Eagles Clubs. Wendelin is survived by his children Rebecca Senger, Cottonwood, AZ, Joyce Stonebraker, San Antonio, TX, Barbara Senger, Peoria, AZ, Kenneth and wife Hiroko Senger, San Diego, CA, Thomas Senger, Devils Lake and Rita and husband Jerry Simpson, Glendale, AZ; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; sisters Catherine “Katy” Steffen, Irene (Phillip) Steffen, Mary Ann (Tim) Kurtz, all of Devils Lake; brother William (Betty) Senger, Cleveland, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Videll on July 3, 2008; brothers Peter, Joseph, Frank and Jerry Senger; sisters Magdelina Freeman, Julia Jorgenson, Rose Ogrocko, Veronica Schiff and Frances Daniels and son-in-law Kent Stonebraker. Urn Bearers will be Ken and Tom Senger, Sarah Senger will read the Scriptures and Gift Bearers will be Gail Senger and Carol Deplazes.
