Kyann M. Spotted Wolf

Kyann M. Spotted Wolf, 30 of the Spirit Lake Nation began her journey to the Spirit World on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Kyann Mattie, daughter of Eldon M. Spotted Wolf and Lynn Alberts was born on July 9, 1985 in Devils Lake. She grew up in the Fort Totten area graduated from Four Winds High School with the class of 2003. She continued her education at Little Hoop Community College. Kyann worked at Spirit Lake Casino and Resort but increasing health problems and Congestive Heart Failure, which eventually took her life, prevented her from continuing employment. Kyann enjoyed beading and other crafts. She loved spending time with her sisters and her niece and nephew meant everything to her. Everyone who knew Kyann knew just how much Applelaina and Noah meant to her. She loved spoiling them and doing everything she could for them. She was so excited to have a baby of her own and she gave birth to Daphne Quinn Spotted Wolf, January 1, 2013, unfortunately Daphne passed on that same day. Kyann was a generous, kind hearted person and that showed through to everyone she knew with her beautiful smile and sparkling eyes. She would give you the shirt off her back if it meant you'd be okay. She always did her best to make sure everyone in her presence was happy. If you were reluctant to cross paths with this kind soul you would know that goes without saying. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Kyann is survived by her sisters Sarah (Dennis) Alberts and Joyelle Spotted Wolf; nephew Noah Spotted Wolf; niece Applelaina Chaske; grandmas Sally Cavanaugh and Winona Fox; special friend Stephen Smith and many dear aunts, uncles, great aunts and great uncles and cousins. Cavanaugh, and Albert Spotted Wolf and great grandparents Alvina and George Alberts.
