Antoine Sylvio LaVallie

Antoine S. LaVallie, 86 of Devils Lake, formerly of Fargo, ND passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, New Rockford, ND. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel, Devils Lake, ND with Father Bernard Pfau officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Antoine Sylvio LaVallie was born on December 29, 1929 at Belcourt, ND, the son of Antoine and Eliza (Houle) LaVallie. He is the 2nd of four children. Antoine attended school at Wahpeton, ND. He worked for Lake Region area farmers for several years. He served in the United States Army for 2 ½ years. He returned to the Devils Lake area and also lived and worked in Fargo for many years. Antoine worked at a variety of jobs, but most of his years of employment were as a welder. Antoine retired in 1982. Antoine spent many happy years of his life with Beulah Marie Herman and Annie TwoHearts. They were very proud of their children and those they raised as their own. Antoine enjoyed spending his time fishing, hunting and playing pool. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Antoine is survived by children Antonette “Toni – Chee Chee” Herman (fiancé Tim Olson), Brenda (Bud) Pendergast, Antoine “Tony” (Debra) LaVallie, Edward (Brenda Belgarde) LaVallie, Alfred Herman, Ernestine Dauphinais, Mary Jane (Wayne) Carlson, Debra Herman, Yvonne Shipley and Shirley Herman; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister Cecilia Trottier, Winnebago, WI; numerous nieces, nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents; children Betty Ann Jager, Jeanette Jore, Elsie Herman, Teresa Two Hearts and Carrie Two Hearts; brothers Edward LaVallie and Ernest LaVallie.
