Linda Anne Felchle Our beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother, Linda Felchle passed away on March 25, 2016 peacefully in her home after a sudden and brief illness. Family members were by her side. Linda was born November 15, 1929 on a farm in Carrington, North Dakota to Katherine and Don Nicolson and spent her childhood there. Linda attended high school in Carrington and received a high school degree and a business college education. She married her high school sweetheart, Floyd Felchle, and they were married for 40 years. After a few years in Carrington, they moved to Devils Lake where she lived for over 65 years and raised her family. Floyd and Linda worked together many years in the family owned Felchle Insurance Agency for Milbank Mutual Insurance Company, making it a household name throughout the area. In addition Linda worked as a realtor in the local community. The First United Methodist Church in Devils Lake was her church home, and she was proud to serve as an elder there. She participated in various church activities as well as belonging to several bridge groups. She loved horses, golfing, square dancing, playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, and lunches with friends. A true lady, Linda, always had a smile. And never met a stranger. She was smart, charming, and full of spunk, a beautiful person who loved to laugh and had a quick wit and sense of humor. Linda was a loyal friend to those who knew her. She truly lived her life to the fullest. A native North Dakotan, Linda was very proud of her heritage and the state. In her later years Linda made many road trips with her longtime companion, Mel Bulock. They enjoyed sightseeing, square dancing, golfing, and visiting friends and family around the country. Linda was predeceased by her parents, husband Floyd, son Mitch, and her sister Mary Anderson. She is survived by her brother Don Nicolson, Chandler, AZ; son, Vince (Genie Price) Felchle of Dallas, TX; daughter Kathy Felchle, Dickinson, ND and granddaughters Kirsten Root of Zap, ND and Jodee Hulm of Dickinson, ND; great grandchildren Jamison Root and Jorja Hulm; daughter Merrilee (John) Glover and granddaughter Amelia of Belgrade, MT; daughter-in-law Dawn Felchle of Driggs, ID and grandson, Brody (Heather) Felchle, of New York City; and many nieces and nephews who loved and adored their aunt. We, her family and friends, are so blessed to have known our Linda, and although we will miss her terribly, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on in the hearts of so many. Linda taught us what it means to live with character, compassion, courage, determination, and love. We are filled with joy for the wonderful life she lived. Thank you, Linda, for the beautiful years you shared with us. The family wishes to thank Altru Health Services / Hospice for their dedicated and caring support during our mother’s last few days with us. A memorial service will be conducted at First United Methodist Church, April 2, 2016 at 11:15 AM with Pastor Lori Broschat presiding. A reception will follow at the church, and a private burial service will be held after the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the charity of your choice.
