Della D. (Rutherford) Danielson

Della D. Danielson, 93 of Devils Lake formerly of Walhalla and Park River, ND passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake. Della D. Rutherford was born September 29, 1922 in Fremont Township, Cavalier County, rural Walhalla, North Dakota, the daughter of Joseph and Agnes (Langlois) Rutherford. Della was reared and educated near Walhalla. She was united in marriage to Chris W. Danielson on November 3, 1938 at Vang, ND. They established their home on a farm west of Walhalla where they farmed and raised five children. In 1967 they moved to Park River, ND where Della worked at the Good Samaritan Home as a Food Supervisor. Della and Chris semi-retired and moved to Devils Lake in 1982, where they made their home. Chris passed away on October 23, 1998. Della remained in her home and later moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Devils Lake. Della was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church of Devils Lake, former member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Park River, ND and of Walhalla Lutheran Church, Walhalla, ND. Recently Della had joined St. Joseph Catholic Church and was attending Mass at the Good Samaritan Center. Della is survived by her children: June (Gary Brown) Miron, Grand Forks, ND, Janet Bennett, Devils Lake, Jerry (Ruth) Danielson, Walhalla, ND, James (Sherry) Danielson, Billings, MT; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brother Sidney Rutherford; sisters Ella Dominiak, Delores Busser, and Evelyn (Earl) McCraine. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Chris; daughter Judy Peterson; grandson Brian Lee Tipsword; granddaughters Penny Jo Miron and Margie Allard; brothers Richard and Earl Rutherford; sister May and her husband Bud Styles; sister-in-law Joyce Rutherford and brother-in-law Robert Dominiak. Funeral Services for Della will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel, Devils Lake with Reverend Paul Balaban, Interim Pastor, St. Olaf Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Walhalla Hillside Cemetery, Walhalla on Friday, June 10th at 12:45 p.m. Music will be provided by Donovan Foughty and Jean Aardahl.
