Jacob A. Wentz, 16 of Crary, ND passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake from an accidental drowning.
Jacob Allen, precious son of Michael and Joy (Davidson) Wentz was born on October 25, 1999 at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake. He was a baptized member of the River of Life Church.
Jacob attended Minnie H Elementary School. Along with all the school activities he also participated in a wrestling program. He then graduated from Central Middle School and attended Lakota High School his freshman year. Jacob had just completed his sophomore year at Devils Lake High School.
Jacob had dedicated himself to weight lifting and fitness. At Lakota High he had participated in the running events in Track. He had a passion for video games and was in the process of developing his own version of one of his favorite games. He also was very artistic and used his creativity to express himself. His love of music was not limited to one style, so he enjoyed quite a wide variety of types and sounds. Jacob loved animals of all kinds, loved joking around and making people laugh. But family and friends were his priority, spending time with them and sharing his love and caring nature with them.
Jacob’s brief earthly life touched so very many hearts and those hearts are so heavy with sadness. We can’t imagine not seeing Jacob’s beautiful smile, those bright, dancing eyes brightening each of our days and experiencing his loving, gentle heart in our lives, but those are the memories we will treasure always.
Jacob is survived by his loving family. His parents Michael and Joy Wentz; sister Rachelle Wentz and brothers Michael Wentz and Tyler Wentz all of Crary; nephew Kaysen Longie and two more on the way in the Fall; maternal grandparents Melvin and Jana Davidson, Grafton, ND and paternal grandparents Edward Wentz, Devils Lake and Penny Johnson also of Devils Lake; aunts and uncles Eugene Davidson, Bruce Davidson, Kim VanRisseghem, Amy Litzinger, Julie Davidson, Matthew (Ernesta McKay) Davidson, Darren Wentz, Matthew (Misti Skoog) Wentz and Ashley (James Ackerman) Wentz; many cousins, great aunts and great uncles also survive.
