Vincent F. “Vixie” Walker, 73 of Devils Lake and Fort Totten, ND passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.
Visitation will be at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Fort Totten on Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of the Resurrection will be on Friday, June 24th at the church at 10:00 am with Father Charles Leute OP celebrating the Mass. Vincent will be laid to rest in St. Jerome’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Fort Totten, ND.
Vincent Floyd, son of James and Helen (McKay) Walker was born on June 17, 1942 at Fort Totten, ND. He grew up and was educated in Fort Totten and lived most of his life on the Spirit Lake Nation. As a young man he worked for several area farmers.
True to his name, Vincent loved to walk. His walks weren’t around the block, he would walk miles on a daily basis year round.
In 2009, Vincent moved to the Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake and enjoyed several years of friendship with his brother Charles.
Vincent is survived by his brother Charles; nephews Bruce Mindt, Kevin Mindt and Michael Greywater Jr.; beloved members of the TwoHearts family, McKay family and the Cavanaugh family; special friend of the family, Patty Christianson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Rayfield Walker and sisters Elizabeth Walker and Maxine Walker.
Casket Bearers for Vincent will be Bruce Mindt, Kevin Mindt, Michael Greywater Jr., Cletus TwoHearts, Bernard TwoHearts, Roman Cavanaugh, Robert Cavanaugh Jr. and Curtis RedOwl.
Daryl Three Irons Drum Group, Tony and Vina McDonald and family and Robert and Carol Greywater will provide music and songs in memory of Vincent.
