RedTomahawk was born on November 15, 1974, the son of Catalina Whiteman Herman and the late Leonard RedTomahawk. Lenny the oldest son, resided in Fort Totten his entire life. He went to school at Fort Totten elementary, graduated from Four Winds and received his 2 year degree from Cankdeska Cikana Community College. Lenny was a very friendly, generous person who had a unique, genuine personality. Everyone came first. He was a compassionate, giving person. He had so much empathy for everyone he ran into who was having a bad day or sick. He would try to help and cheer them up by just sitting and talking to them. He went out of his way. There was not a selfish bone in him-everyone came first. He was a thoughtful person in many ways. He gave, gave, gave-whether it was his time, food, money or whatever they needed. Even throughout the duration of dealing with his illness and dialysis, he put his needs aside to give a helping hand. He loved his family and friends dearly. He loved to cook, bake, Casino/Bingo, and he loved to DANCE. He worked at Headstart, Four Winds and Warwick as a Teacher’s Aide and most recently at the Spirit Lake Casino. He loved working with all the kids. He was an avid Four Winds-Warwick Basketball Fan. He touched the lives of everyone he met in some special way. We will miss him very much and with all our hearts. “I was honored to be his Mother.” Lenny is survived by his loving family.
