Bruce A. Knoff 1954 - 2016
Bruce’s journey started when he was born in 1954 and entered full retirement on Wednesday July 13, 2016 in Devils Lake, ND. He was born the third child of four to his late parents Phyllis (Drake) and Selmer Knoff. His parents had molded his epic character of family values and duty of service that of which he applied throughout his life.
Soon after graduating high school, Bruce proudly continued in his family’s tradition of service by enlisting in the United States Army on Wednesday 16 August 1972, His mos was 63B which is a Wheel Vehicle Mechanic. He served in Co. A 57th Sig Bn in Korea, that of which he received the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea) and Marksman (Rifle). He was honorably discharged from active duty on 27 April 1978 with a rank of SP4. Shortly after his discharge from active duty with the Army, he proceeded to enlist in the Army National Guard from 18 September 1980 until 13 March 1986 where he would retire as an E-5 (SGT) with a secret mos. Concurrently, while in the National Guard he attended Lake Region State College.
For many years he was employed at Sioux Manufacturing in Fort Totten, ND. Most recently he enjoyed his career and the opportunity to serve Wal-Mart for the past eleven years; having received multiple acknowledgements.
His deepest enjoyment was his step daughter and the birth of his daughters, only having wished to be able to spend more time with them.
He will be forever loved and in our hearts.

Niece: Brittany and great nieces Samantha and Jordan in Fargo, ND
Nephew: Corbett Knoff in Fargo, ND
Uncles: Kenneth Drake in Sheyenne, ND, John Drake in Fargo, ND, Doug Drake in AZ
Aunts: Laura Hoffarth and Francis Brooks in Jamestown, ND, Donna Aldinger in AZ and Edna Johnson (John K.) in Kintyre, ND as well as many cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents Phyllis and Selmer; brother Craig (Lisa) Knoff; grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Robert Knoff and Clarence and Helen Drake; uncles Lauren Drake, Howard, Art, Peter; aunts Jean Hoffarth (Leo), Mary Putter; Linda; cousins Donald Hoffarth, Dale Brooke.
We extend an invitation to family, friends and his colleagues to join us at Roosevelt Park for lunch on Saturday 30 July 2016 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM with the funeral following at 1:00 PM at Gilbertson Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Neathery-Simensen Post #756, Devils Lake Veterans of Foreign Wars and the North Dakota Military Funeral Honors Team.
