Sheldon Ryan Black, 34 of St. Michael made his journey to heaven on August 14, 2016 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND, surrounded by loving family and friends who loved him very much.
Funeral Services for Sheldon will be held on Monday, August 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Michael, ND. Fr. Paul Schuster will officiate and burial will be in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery.
The visitation for Sheldon will be held at St. Michael Wellness Center on Sunday August 21, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. with the Rosary and Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. The procession to St. Michael’s Catholic Church will leave from City Plaza parking lot at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Sheldon will be Brandon Black, Joe Cavanaugh, Claude Black, Scott Black, Trestan Demarce, Sam Merrick Jr., Val George Merrick, Duane Jackson Jr., Shilo Knutson, Shaq Howard, Jr Jones., Lydell Jones, Smokey Jones and Ira Jones.

Sheldon was born on December 15, 1981 in Devils Lake, ND. The son of Constance Black and Elmer White Jr. Sheldon was raised in St. Michael, ND and attended Warwick Public School.
Sheldon worked various jobs including Spirit Lake Casino and also as a flagger for Ames Construction. Sheldon enjoyed spending time with his family. Sheldon loved to joke around and make everyone laugh and put a smile on their face. Sheldon would invite people into his home if they needed a place to stay, he had such a big heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. Sheldon will be forever missed by his family and friends.
Sheldon is survived by his children, Destanee, Sheldon Jr., Felix, Reginald and Jeremiah Black; special friend, Kaylene Jones; brothers, Joe (Cara) Cavanaugh, Brandon Black, Elmer (Yolanda) White Jr., Kyle White, Chris White, Richard (Samantha) Cavanaugh, Ira Jones; sisters, Crystal, Kathy, Krista (Sage), Kristy, Denise, Angelita, Simone, Simona and Jen White; second mom, Sharron (Perry Sr.) Mudgett; grandparents, Evangeline White, Carol Black, Florestine Dunn, Pierre Culbertson and James Baker; uncles, Claude, Scott, Bill Black and Valentino White; aunts, Patricia Denise, Marsha, Janet and Lorriane White, Melissa (Bentley Sr.) Greybear, Bonnie (John) Wells and Inez Chaske; god-parents, Joan Black and Scott Black; many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
